The Priceless Woman Study

Proverbs 31:29
January 29, 2012By Pastor Wendy Williams

29Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. (KJV)

This wonderful journey of self-discovery and self-development is drawing to a conclusion. Including today, there are only three lessons remaining. God has breathed on every lesson so that every participant would receive the revelation God had for each person's unique situation. You are near the "finish line." Decide now to finish strong!

Every man, woman and child including our Savior, Christ Jesus, was born of a woman. Therefore, every woman is a daughter. Today's verse says: "many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all." Did you notice the shift in this verse? Instead of Solomon talking "about" the virtuous woman, he is now speaking directly "to" her.

This verse suggests that a woman can perform virtuously and still not "be" a virtuous woman. If a woman performs virtuously today, and performs evil deeds tomorrow, she would not "be" God's virtuous woman. In order to "be" God's virtuous woman, she must be in the progressive pursuit to remain consistent in wisdom and virtue. But, whenever we mess up, God is a forgiving God. All we have to do is confess our sins (missing the mark) to Him, and He is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins. (1 John 1:9) Then, we have the "right" to begin again. We can get right back in line, but we don't have to go all the way to the back of the line. God lets us pick up right where we left off.

The virtuous (strong) woman; however, excels them all. She has a spirit of excellence, and she remains consistent above all others. She has intentionally developed self-discipline over time to "be" God's virtuous woman. She excels them all because her virtue (strength) outlasts them all. She never gives up on herself. She never stops trying. She never stops growing, and she never stops improving. She never takes shortcuts on her destiny and purpose. She goes the extra mile, to do the right thing, the right way, and she excels. Excellence costs more, but it pays for itself. When this journey is over, never stop meditating on Proverbs Chapter 31:1-31. You will progressively develop in strength, and you will "be" God's virtuous woman (or in the case of the man, God'sman of valor). (Repeat the GEM FOR TODAY throughout the day)

GEM FOR TODAY: Father, I thank You that I remain consistent in performing with excellence. I meditate on the verses in Proverbs Chapter 31, and I progressively pursue my destiny and purpose to Your glory.   (Men say) I AM A MAN OF VALOR, AND I VALUE GOD'S PRICELESS WOMAN!!! (Women say) I AM GOD'S PRICELESS WOMAN!!! In Jesus' Name, Amen

The Progressive Pursuit

I thank God for this Priceless Woman's Journey, because it has taught me that I can be the Priceless Woman if I put all of my hope and trust in God. I marvel at the Priceless Woman's work. I am so thankful that God directed my path, and continously give me opportunities to model.
